Christopher Au
President
Dr. Christopher Au is a student of Native Hawaiian Health studies and has extensive experience in both culturally-specific case management, crisis intervention supports, and in providing therapeutic services to those with severe behavioral issues. Dr. Au. has specific insight into the cultural components and biases presented in the judiciary and in the society-at-large. Dr. Au is adept in understanding the phenomenology of cultural trauma and how to identify it in individuals. A key element of his work is the importance of the community, not only to the current population of Kanaka but particularly to those who came before us, Kapo’e kahiko, the people of old and their wisdom and reverence for kinship, a reverence for the land and people, represented in the key values of pono, lokahi, and lahui.
